Horde's Winning Ways Continue

Tyler LaMont led the Horde charge with the second Horde hat trick in history.  The scoring opened at 14:11 of the first period with a Jon Zimmerman goal which was set up by Andrew Dayton stealing the puck behind the net and making a tough pass to Jeff Nelson who slid the puck to Zimmerman in the slot.  At 10:17 of the first period, Brian Hinderks got on the board with a beautiful end-to-end rush.  Jeff Nelson put the Horde up 3-0 at 9:33 of the 1st.  The Diablos rebounded at 8:15 and 7:02 with goals by Joe Gandsey and Shea Moyer of the Diablos.  The Horde then stepped it up with back-to-back goals by Tyler LaMont, including a slap shot from the point and a sweet deke.  His first goal came on the power play following a rough hit on Dan Kline against the boards.  Jon Zimmerman followed his own rebound in the third period after picking up the puck following a good defensive play to dislodge it from the Diablos by Brian HinderksTyler LaMont put up his third of the night in the third period and Andrew Dayton put in the final goal of the night set up by Tyler LaMont and Liam Monahan

Jon Nygren had an assist on LaMont’s first goal and led a strong fore-check by the Horde forwards – this may have been Nygren’s break out night.  He was also likely pumped by the thought of his Colt 45 12 pack chilling in the trunk of his car.  David Homel returned to the lineup and set up some good scoring chances for the Horde. The defense was tough again all night as Ryan Chester helped limit the Diablos to only 9 shots on the night.  Dan Bolles had a number of key defensive plays from the center position to keep Pete Morrow undefeated in net.
